Boughton House Tours
This Easter (31st March – 2nd April), visitors will be able to enjoy a self-guided tour of the ground floor rooms. The route will begin in the stunning Great Hall of the house, moving through the Little Hall, Drawing Room, Morning Room, Rainbow Room, South Passage, Audit Room and Egyptian Hall with an opportunity to view the incomparable Armoury and the unique Unfinished Wing. In these rooms our friendly knowledgeable guides will be here to help you enjoy and interpret the richness of the collection, history and heritage of Boughton.
Guided tours of the Staterooms and “Books Beds and Beyond will not be available due to ongoing conservation work at the house.
You can choose from a selection of tours at Boughton House depending on your interests. The House is open over the Easter weekend (31st Mar – 2nd Apr), May Bank Holiday (26th – 28th May) and daily in August 2018:
Great Hall Tour
Enjoy some of the finest treasures of the Buccleuch collection as you tour the ground floor of the House, culminating in the stunning Great Hall.
Time: Approximately one hour encompassing nine rooms.
Price: £10 including access to the Gardens, Exhibition and Armoury
State Rooms Tour
Marvel at Ralph Montagu’s transformation of Boughton with staterooms fit for a king – in this case William III.
Time: Approximately one hour, encompassing seven rooms.
Price: Add £2 to House Tour or £10 with access to Gardens, Exhibition and Armoury.
The Books, Beds and Beyond Tour
This eclectic tour showcases many rooms found on the upper floors, including the former servants quarters, the china store and the library.
Time: One hour encompassing 15 rooms. Please note there are a number of staircases on this tour without access to a lift.
Price: £10.00 (this is additional to normal entry)
Exhibition and Armoury
The Exhibition (from summer 2018) and world-renowned Armoury will be open for visitors to enjoy through the afternoon on a free flow basis. FREE with gardens entry.
