Success at inaugural Northamptonshire Tourism Business Awards

On Friday 27th February, businesses and individuals from across the Northamptonshire gathered at Silverstone Museum to recognise organisations, attractions and individuals who help make the county such a vibrant and welcoming visitor destination.

The team at Boughton House were delighted to be named Small Visitor Attraction of the Year, by the independent judging panel on the night.

Sam Rees, Estate Manager said: ‘it is an honour to have won this award and receive recognition within the local area. Boughton House offers visitors a variety of experiences throughout the year, from historic house and art tours to family events and summer festivals, there really is something for everyone.’

Boughton House’s commitment to conservation and the environment were also highlighted in the award submission, with particular reference to the recent restoration of the magnificent Louis Chéron painted ceilings and roof works. The works on Star Pond bring together both elements; with their sympathetic restoration and attention to nature and biodiversity offering visitors a further glimpse into the past while protecting the environment for the future.

Often called the English Versailles, Boughton House sits within the heart of Northamptonshire and is part of the wider Boughton Estate, a working estate supporting agriculture, forestry and rural property.
